As a child Hunter Hebert, Host of Speedtrap and President and Owner of Jaguar Media Group LLC, and Xtreme Outdoor Productions was introduced to the world of television by his father Jim. Over the years, he gained valuable industry knowledge and insight while working his way up the ranks.
During his youth Hunter took part in many motorsport related hobbies including Racing Snowcross for Artic Cat Snowmobiles and riding for Honda in a small Motorcross Circuit in Michigan as well as being a 4x4 junkie. He classifies himself as a extremist of sort, enjoying skydiving, bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and back country skiing.
As he got older he became more and more a part of the TV industry by hosting children’s sections on the International Sportsman TV Series and running cameras as well as assisting in the marketing of the show at trade shows around the country.
In 2000 Hunter went to Africa for 4 months and after many weeks of Schooling became 1 of only 7 US citizens to become a certified Professional Hunter in the African continent. This allowed him to explore a little more of his Crazy side. On more than one occasion he has been chased down by Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and the occasional leopard but that never stopped him from taking friends and clients into the wilds of Africa.
When returning home from Africa he went directly to Alaska and also received his Registered Mountain Guide License. Upon returning home he went to work full time for the International Sportsman TV Series and began marketing and collecting sponsors to finance the TV show’s airing soon becoming the host and VP of the corporation. But as most young men, he was getting tired of working for family and wanting to make a name for himself; so soon came the planning stage.
A close friend of Hunter’s had been an off road enthusiast for many years and while talking Hunter brought up the idea of producing a TV show based on the off road industry. His friends went nuts and started throwing ideas out like crazy. The concept went from Showing people riding there dirt bikes to building Monster trucks, but Hunter saw the idea as a building block to something huge!
So over the next 8 months ideas became dreams, dreams became concepts and then in October 0f 2004 the concepts became a reality. Speedtrap became a corporation and the planning began… After many calls by himself and his crew of marketing guys they narrowed down the search to 1 Company SAND LIMO by Joe Fab to begin there journey into the homes of Millions.
In December of 2004 the filming began on the first segment of Speedtrap at Sand Limo in Apache Junction AZ. Over the next 10 days they built a car that was in essence the beginning of the dream but also the end.
Jaguar media was designed as a venue for other producers to house there ideas for quality reality based TV, associated with the motor sports industry, in hopes to give other people the opportunity to see there thoughts make it to the TV screen. Speedtrap is not the same as the other shows on the air today. We don’t want the story line to be “Lets build a bike or car and argue as much as humanly possible in the next 30 minuets” we want to showcase the time, knowledge and detail it takes to build one of these vehicle.
We intend to show the whole build; not just the frame going out the door and coming back powder coated and throw the thing together! Show the people what they want to see "THE WHOLE PROCESS” WE are actively on the chat forums and answering E-Mail from our viewers and are listening to them whole heartedly… One viewer wrote to us on a chat forum that people can only Dune so long before it gets to hot to go out to the desert and most of them are boating enthusiasts, he then wrote that we should build some sort of off-shore racing boat.
Guess what there next build is? A 38ft Ocean Express Off-shore racing Catamaran that they will be racing in the APBA world Championship Series.Speedtrap has contracted with a number of other builders as well for upcoming builds that we will give you a little taste of right here. Powerhouse Motor Coach, Performance Racing School at Irwindale Speedway, Porter Race Cars and a number of others, but you’ll have to watch the show for those!!!
Speedtrap is in the industry to please its viewers and give them exactly what they want. Hunter is in the process of putting together a detailed web site including a polling section that viewers can log onto and vote for what they would like to see as a future build.
“We are working with some of the largest names in the motorsports industry to bring our viewers programming that depicts what a real builder does.” Then take the thing in the field and beat the SH*T out of it. That’s the only way to show how tough this stuff really is.
We intend to race everything that is in that category and show the rest off to the general public. After all this isn’t about tooting our own horn it’s about showing the world how unbelievable these craftsmen and women really are! Some of these builders are very small and just need to get there name out there to show how much better they are than others.“We want to give them that chance” Take Sand Limo for instance! Joe Fab is one of the nicest guys I have ever met but he is also the Best sand car builder most people have ever seen. He doesn’t go around telling everyone he’s the best, he knows it. He just sits back and waits for everyone else to figure it out on their own.
We have been in contact with ESPN , Spike TV , FOX SPORTS , Altitude network, Empire, and AMERICA ONE as well as the Discovery Channel and are entertaining many great offers to go to Air with them, “We are very prepared to take this thing all the way” says Hunter. We want to get 1 more build finished in the next few weeks while we are finishing editing the Sand Car build then there will be plenty of shows to take to Air.
We have also been in contact with some major sponsors including one of the Big 3 auto companies, a large oil corporation, and other big names that we can’t mention right due to contract restrictions.
Speedtrap is one of only few that will be airing in 60 million + homes while being completely privately funded. These funds are coming from http://www.londonfi.com which is wholely owned by Hunter Hebert and Douglas Schulman.
